Product Description
Aventurine Pink Tumbled Stone
Mineral Information:
Aventurine is a quartzite with muscovite mica inclusions, or more rarely hematite, that frequently creates a sparkly glitter-like effect named aventurescence. The unusual name Aventurine comes from the word avventura, which means 'by chance', in reference to an earlier discovery by Italian glassmakers accidentally creating this visual work in glass - aventurine the stone would then later inherit that name, as the glassy visual effect produced was deemed similar. The most common inclusion is chrome-bearing fuchsite, which creates green aventurine, but red, orange, brown, yellow, blue and grey also exist. As quartzite material is quite durable, it is well-suited for some industrial and ornamental use, ranging from countertops to jewelry.
